What Time Is It?

 It’s not the past.

We can’t rest on past victories.  Paul had done all the right “religious” things.  He said in Phil 3:4-6 : Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:  Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Yet in Phil 3:13-14 he said Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We can’t dwell on guilt for past sins.  Ps 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Dwelling on the past will prevent us from moving forward.

Just one life; too soon it will pass.  Only what’s done for Christ will last.

It’s not the future.

We could spend all our time planning, but never doing.  Be a doer of the word.

Jms 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

We shouldn’t worry about the future.  God is already there.  The phrase “fear not” is found 28 times in the Bible.

Deut 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Lk 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.

It’s the present.  So what does that mean?

It’s time to work.  Work for the night is coming.

Neh 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

The people had a mind to work, so the wall was built and the people were protected.  No one could do it all, but everyone could do their part.

It’s time to harvest.  The fields are white, but where are the laborers?

Jn 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.    If we saw the harvest field as Jesus sees it, would we work more diligently?  Will we reach them in time?

It’s time to watch.  His appearing could be any time.  At no other time in history have all the signs given in the Bible come together so abundantly and so quickly.  The final harvest is at hand.

Rv 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

If you have never accepted Christ as your personal Savior, now is the day of salvation.

Isa 49:8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee,

2Cor 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Romans 3:23-25  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-13: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

RIGHT NOW is the only time we are guaranteed to have.  We don’t have the promise of one more breath, one more heartbeat.  Hell is a real and terrible place.  What of this world’s pleasures is worth risking eternity in Hell for?

Yesterday is gone; tomorrow may never come.  Today is a gift.  That’s why it’s called the present.  What are you going to do with your gift of today?

Start by giving your heart to the Savior.  Then begin every day by giving that day of your life to Him.  Then the things that you spend your time on here will count for all eternity.
